Route 66 2010 Awards Banquet
Over 225 people attended the 2010 Route 66 Series awards banquet on the evening of November 6 where over $77,000 in awards, certificates and merchandise was given out. The banquet was held at the elegant Crowne Plaza Hotel ballroom in Springfield, IL. Awards were presented to the point champions from 14 classes with 98 positions being awarded to the drivers in attendance. Most classes were awarded back to 8th position with the remaining classes awarding the top five.
Following a buffet dinner, master of ceremonies Rick Fulks, who served as race director throughout the season, began the awards presentations that were linked to high-energy music as each class champion was called to the stage. Kid Kart Participation class trophies were as tall as some of the drivers receiving the awards. During the awards presentation, each driver's photo was projected onto a screen showing their kart in action from one of the season's events.
