JUST A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS
As a reminder, you must weigh at the end of each of the races to be credited with a finish in that race. Refusal to weigh will result in a DQ for that race.
As we announced at CHMS, Kid Karts will return to the stock air filter, with at least one stock filter filament inside. This is not open for discussion.
Kid karts and all other classes, please do not pick up the axle to rev up the engine on the grid. If you must warm up your engine, leave the kart on the stand and then put it down just before the field heads on to the track.
Should an accident take place in the first turn/part of the racetrack on the first lap where at least ½ of the field is involved in a crash, the Race Director reserves the right to re-start the race, but does not have to.
Kid kart participants should watch the website for new updates to the rules very soon.
If you have any questions, please contact grafton25@netzero.net.

LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN

The track will be open for practice on Friday, please see www.concepthaulersmotorspeedway.com for more details on Friday practice. Thanks to the event sponsor Express Karts N Parts, check them out at www.expresskarts.com
The Route 66 Series would also like to recognize "Kartlift" as a sponsor of the Kartlift gets you to the races awards. Details will be given at the driver's meeting. Check out more info on Kartlift at www.kartlift.com
New for this year is the Digatron Free Entry program. Each person who enters a class will be entered into a drawing for a free entry for the next event. One winner per event will be chosen.
We are pleased to announce the continuation of the Margay/Bridgestone free set of tires award, to be drawn at the driver's meeting.
Make sure your transponder is on for the last round of practice as we are timing the last practice to determine the order of qualifying. We hope this will eliminate the crowding to the front of the grid, plus it should help in our spacing since most karts will be in a group of similar speeds.
Many thanks to our class and series sponsors which can be viewed at www.route66kartracing.com

OPENING ROUND POSTPONED
It's official, the first race at New Castle has been postponed due to weather. The make-up date will be announced here on the Route 66 website in a few days. We took several things into account besides the forecast before postponing the event, mainly the safety of the karters and not wanting to waste $3.50/gallon on gas for unnecessary travel.
Again, the make-up date will be announced here within a few days so keep checking back and try to stay dry this weekend!
04.09.08
OPENING ROUND WEATHER UPDATE
Due to the forecast for the weekend, the first race at New Castle may need to be rescheduled. We are continuing to watch the weather, and will have a FINAL decision at Noon on Thursday. We appreciate your patience in this matter, as we all know, the weather is very unpredictable. However, there is more involved than just changing the date. The tracks have made their schedules around the Route 66 Series and closed their facilities for our races. There are only so many dates available and we will need to work with all of the tracks in the event of a reschedule. Please keep your fingers crossed and make sure to check back often as updates will be posted on the Route 66 website as well as the e-Karting News site. Again, a FINAL decision will be posted here on the Route 66 website at Noon on Thursday.
Our rain policy is as per the WKA tech manual. 15 minutes to change from dry to wet, and then resume racing… Please refer to the WKA manual for any questions on policies/procedures. The only variance we utilize is that any manufactured rain tire is legal.
Kid Karts will race in the rain, just as any other class. Again, any manufactured rain tire is legal.
04.07.08
FUEL AND RAIN POLICY UPDATE
Questions have come up about fuel, it must pass the Digatron test,
Race Fuel will be available at NCMP.
Our Rain Tire Policy is the same as years past, any factory rain tire is legal when rain conditions are warranted.
If you have any questions, contact grafton25@netzero.net.

2008 TAG CLASS TECH & RULES UPDATE
The Route 66 Series would like to start by saying thanks to everyone
who
gave their input for the 2008 TaG program. After careful consideration
and
lengthy review, we have decided to go with the following rules for our
2008
TaG program:
• TaG 60-Rookie will use TaGUSA weights and engine rules
(same as last
year)
• TaG Junior will use TaGUSA weights and engine rules (same as last year)
• All
engines must be approved by TaGUSA and use the appropriate restricted
header.
• TaG Senior, and Leopard Only will use WKA engine tech and weights.
• Front
Wheel Brakes will be allowed, but with a 20lb. penalty.
Example: A
Leopard
kart with front brakes will have to weigh 365 (current WKA weight) plus
20
lbs. for a total minimum weight of 385. A Rok TT kart with front brakes
would weigh 380 plus the 20 lbs. for front brakes to have a minimum
weight
of 400 lbs.
• Only WKA approved motors will be allowed in this class.
• The weight in Leopard only will change from 360 to 365 so it will match
the
TaG Senior class and those wishing to run both classes can do so
without
changing weight.
• TaG Heavy-Same rules as TaG Senior, add 30 pounds to each engine weight. Example: Leopard karts without front brakes will have a minimum weight of 395, with front brakes will be 415 lbs.

CADET CHASSIS UPDATE
After several conversations regarding the cadet chassis being allowed in the Yamaha Rookie class, we have decided not to allow the cadet chassis in this class. Unfortunately it seems when there is an exception made, it doesn’t end up getting utilized in the appropriate manner.
Any questions, contact grafton25@netzero.net.

SEASONS GREETINGS FROM THE ROUTE 66 SPRINT SERIES
All of us here at the Route 66 Sprint Series would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and a safe and happy New Years. See you at the track in 2008!
12.18.07
ATTENTION: ALL TAG CLASS PARTICIPANTS!
When we put together our class structure for the 2008
season, we
took everyone's
suggestions regarding the Tag classes and thought that we
we're
doing
what was best for you the racer. We decided to stay with TAG
USA
Tech and rules &
the main reason for this was to save you the karter apx
$1500.00
for front brakes.
The second consideration was that the LEOPARD Engine was 95%
off
all TAG entry's.
So, we decided to have a LEOPARD only class. The reason for
this
was to create a
a level playing field. When you have multiple engine
classes,
unfortunately the rules
are not always fair. Someone (some engine) always gets an
advantage.
For this reason,
we are not going to make any changes to our current TAG
classes
until after the
Daytona WKA Manufacturers Cup Race. At this time we will
attempt
to make a fair
decision regarding the Senior Tag Classes and if we feel the
weights need adjusted
in the Junior Tag Classes.
If you're a TAG RACER, please e-mail Greg and or Mark on this
issue. We do want your
input. We want to provide a series that is fun & fare to
race in.
Your input is
important to us.
