The Route 66 Sprint Series, presented by Franklin Motorsports and MG Tires is happy to announce that they have partnered with the Buckeye Karting Challenge to create a unique, one-off motorsports event. Route 66 has been the gold standard for regional sprint racing in the Midwest, with a history spanning back over 25 years. The Buckeye Karting Challenge (BKC) is a relatively young series, but has grown quickly with its grassroots based following and its own brand of budget racing in the Ohio area. The two parties are coming together to create an event that will focus on one weekend of flat-out fun at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati (MCC). Under the guidance of Shawn Bayliff and his crew at MCC, the venue has undergone a major transformation and rebirth. New track surface, updated paddock area, and increased amenities are all part of what the Kartplex at MCC now has to offer.
Route 66 and BKC are inviting racers from all over the country to join them at MCC on June 4-6, 2021 for the Inaugural KA100-206 Sprint Nationals. The event will feature all the Route 66 classes, including: Micro Swift, Mini Swift, KA100 Jr., KA100 Sr., KA100 Sr. Heavy, 206 Sportsman, 206 Jr., 206 Sr. Med, and 206 Sr. Heavy. In addition, there will be a Yamaha Supercan (#350) class to add to the “throwback” feel of the event.
The KA100-206 Sprint Nationals will be supported by Briggs & Stratton and IAME USA East, as well as other great sponsors, including KartLift Kart Stands, DNJ Intermodal Services, and MG Tires.
The event will feature a day of optional practice on Friday, June 4th, with a morning practice on Saturday June 5th, followed by qualifying and heat races. On Sunday, June 6, there will be a Dash for Cash and full complement of Feature races. An Awards Ceremony featuring great prizes and trophies will cap it all off Sunday afternoon.’
Racers should watch for updates at Route66kartracing.com. The full Route 66 rules package is available there as well. Registration will be via motorsportsreg.com, and open in the end of April.
