As the old expression goes, the hits just keep on coming. We finally got the Covid-delayed season underway, and got a couple of very successful events under our belts, then things started to unravel. The state of Illinois had been making good progress towards opening its businesses back up, but recently things have taken a turn for the worse, particularly in the more densely populated counties of the state. As time goes by, more and more Covid related government restrictions are being reinstated on Illinois businesses by the government. Ultimately, we no longer have the necessary level of confidence in being able to hold an event at an IL venue. Fortunately, Wisconsin continues to have low Covid cases and the government restrictions have been more consistent and less restrictive, allowing more activities. Last weekend’s Round 2 at Dousman was a great example. All that being said, Series officials have made the difficult decision to move the third event, scheduled for Sept 25-27, to Wolf Paving Raceway in Dousman, WI. Badger Kart Club has been gracious enough to disrupt their club racing schedule to accommodate the Route 66 Sprint Series again, and we very much appreciate it. Registration for this event will open very soon, so keep an eye on the website. While we are hopeful for a relaxing of the government restrictions in time for the October race in Springfield, IL, we are also being realistic about it, and looking at other possible options. We will pass along any information we get, as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding, as we are all doing our best to deal with this crazy unpredictable year.
